Burberry Storm Grey and Graphite Sheer Eye Shadows: Review, Swatches, Ingredients and Comparisons

Burberry just released two new sheer eyeshadows: Storm Grey No. 27 and Graphite No. 28.  ($29/0.088 oz -2.5g).  In 2 weeks Storm Grey is already sold out on Nordstrom’s website and on backorder.

Looks like we have new Burberry eye shadows that will be cult ones like Pale Barley (Click here). Most talented Wendy Rowe selected the best shades again.

Both eye shadows come in the gunmetal packaging with Burberry check on it as well as on the shadows. Packaging is sleek and elegant.   During my travels , I put my Burberry eyeshadows in my carry on luggage and always stopped after TSA/X-ray examination. It is funny because they think it is metal but when they see it is Burberry eyeshadows or makeup  they just smile. Just a little tip: if you travel a lot you can put them into your luggage instead of carry on.

Storm Grey Sheer Eye Shadow

The texture is smooth and buttery. It just glides over the lid. It has very subtle microshimmers , which are so elegant. It reminds me a more grey taupe and cool version of Pale Barley. It has less shimmer than Pale Barley though.

All Burberry Sheer Eye shadows are designed to prove a subtle yet elegant finish without too much makeup look. Stay power is quite excellent lasting up to 6-7 hours. No creasing and fading of the shade.

Graphite Sheer Eye Shadow

Graphite has a cool dark grey tone. I also compared with Tom Ford She Wolf the darkest shade in the pan. Compared to She Wolf, Graphite is more black grey tones where as She Wolf has a little brown /green gray tone.

Graphite  has microshimmers with red/coppery tones. It is drier and less builable than Storm Grey. Storm Grey is more easily applied than Graphite.

Comparisions and Swatches

Here are the comparisions of Storm Grey and Graphite with Chanel Gri Gri, Burberry Pale Barley and Tom Ford She Wolf eye shadows. In the pan Graphite is more grey and cool compared to Tom Ford She Wolf. Storm Grey is cooler taupe compared to golden toned Pale Barley. Storm Grey is more taupe and has less shimmer than Chanel Gri Gri.

Ingredients

The silicone enables the shadow to be applied easily and makes it buttery smooth. There are no parabens or mineral oil. The absence of mineral oil decreases creasing especially on oily eye lids. Also corn starch absorbs the oil making enhancing the stay power of the shadow.

Overall, these are lovely shades. I am leaning more towards Storm Grey than Graphite because I can use it more with my makeup style.
