I love Chanel N°5 but it always gives me headaches possibly due to aldehydic notes in the perfume. Chanel N°5 Eau Premiere ($132 for 3.4 fl. oz/100 ml) has finally made it possible for me to wear Chanel N°5. Original Chanel N°5 was designed by Jacques Polge.
Chanel N°5 Eau Premiere is a sunnier, brighter version of Chanel N°5 . It is more energetic and dynamic, perfect for hot days. It is lighter, fresher more effervescent due to a lighter indole floral note in its heart and less animalic notes in its scent.
Base notes of Chanel N°5 Eau Premiere:
Chanel N°5 Eau Premiere still has the original ingredients of N°5 with the beautiful composition of ylang ylang, jasmine, rose absolute and neroli.
It opens with powdery and exotic ylang ylang with a light touch of aldehydes. Top notes that lasts for almost an hour.
After an hour jasmine joins and offers its powdery floral scent with the soft seductive roses. The final dry down is a fresh powdery creamy vanilla with a touch of woody Sandalwood and green Vetiver.
Chanel N°5 Eau Premiere is light but very elegant, modern, sparkling, sophisticated with a powdery delightful dry down of vanilla and ylang ylang. It is much less powdery and aldehydic than original one making it just right for day or night. If Chanel N°5 can be luxurious Parisian lady makes me think of Miranda Priestly, where as Chanel N°5 Eau Premiere is a younger version of her. Sophisticated, stylish, energetic!
It has moderate sillage and lasts around 5 hours. Yet, the stay power may be different on your skin depending on the natural oils produced by your skin. It is a little lighter on my skin than the original Chanel N°5 and I like it that way.
If you cannot use Chanel N°5 but still loving it, Chanel N°5 Eau Premiere is your answer.
Highly recommended!
I received my Chanel N°5 Eau Premiere from Saks Atlanta. It is also available online at Saks and Chanel with Limited Edition designs.
