Spring is here and Diptyque has released a beautiful new perfume: Florabellio. I have been invited to Atlanta Diptyque to experience this refreshing scent.
Florabellio is not your ordinary perfume. It is a tribute to one of Diptyque’s founders Christiane Gautrot.
Florabellio is created as an an homage to her summers spent with family, enjoying their tiny seaside village in Normandy. The perfumer is Fabrice Pellegrin. The perfume is an exquisite blend of floral harmony with fresh salty sea aromas and fennel and in the background a touch of warm, comforting coffee accord.
The floral notes are composed of sensual and delicate pink apple blossom petals and osmanthus blossom. It is the perfect scent for spring and hot days of summer.
Florabellio is definitely a winner. It does not have the overcoyingly sweet smell of flowers nor it takes over your olfactory sensation with harsh salt notes. It is complex and beautifully balanced.
The smell does remind me of seaside of Aegean and Mediterranean in the early days of spring and fresh mornings of summer. Another thing is reminds me after couple hours is the peaceful feeling after swimming hours in the Med and resting on the beach under aged pine trees swirling gently in the breeze when I was a kid.
Florabellio is fresh, comforting and a happy fragrance.
It lasts on me for a while. The stay power is medium. Everyone has a different stay power when it comes to perfumes due to their skin composition.
Here is the ingredient list:
Florabellio is available as 1/7 oz/50 ml for $90 and 2.4 oz / 100 ml for $125 Eau de Toilette.
I highly recommend Florabellio if you like fresh, floral scents with a hint of marine. If you are in Atlanta, stop by Diptyque in Buckhead. You are going to love the store, very knowledgeable and courteous staff and the whole Diptyque experience. They also ship them to you.
