Tom Ford Honeymoon Eye Shadow Quad ($80.00 for 0.21 oz.) is a part of Spring 2016 collection. It hit the shelves and sold out in a week nearly. There are wait lists for Honeymoon now. It will be coming back soon and the good news is it is permanent.
Honeymoon quad overall is a warm copper toned with red/orange undertones, frosty palette. It is quite beautiful. Like Nude Dip (review), it can be used dry or wet. With wet application, the colors become more intense and metallic. Dry application gives a softer less metallic color on the lids.
Honeymoon pigmentation is quite good and lasts for a good 8 hours with primer. Without primer, it lasted for 6 hours on me.
Honeymoon quad shades are embossed with TF on them different than the other eye shadows in Spring 2016 collection. With the wet/dry application, strength of pigmentation, the synergy of all the shades with each other and the quality of the ingredients, I would say it is certainly worth looking into Honeymoon.
Shades
All the shades apply smoothly and evenly without any fallout. The colors are complex and frosty without being too glittery.
Shade 1
This one is a medium frosted champagne with warm gold undertones. It leans towards a light rose gold as well. The coverage is opaque with a buttery soft texture, easy application, no creasing and no fall out. It is quite blendable with other shades in the quad.
Shade 2
A lovely peachy bronze of rose gold touch with a frosty finish. It has a slight creamy brown undertone. It is darker than Shade 1 and blends so well with it. Lovely. Application is a dream.
Shade 3
This one is a beauty. A frosty warm cranberry red with gold copper undertones. Reminds me of Tom Ford Burnished Amber Quad (discontinued). Yet, Honeymoon shade 3 is cooler and has less pink compared to Burnished Amber Quad that makes it an easier quad for daily use. Application is smooth, easy, no fall out and no creasing for 8 hours. Very blendable.
Shade 4
A deep brownish warm plum with frosty sheen. This pulls a little coppery red on my skintone. Compared the other 3, this one has less shimmer which makes it ideal for crease application. Application is great, no fall out, no creasing. Lasts at least 8 hours.
Comparison: Honeymoon vs Nude Dip
Nude Dip was so popular due to its color range and its formula. Honeymoon has the same formula as Nude Dip for wet/dry application. Nude Dip is cooler compared to Honeymoon. Honeymoon leans towards plum/red with coppery rose gold tones. The swatch below is dry application with 2 swipes.
Ingredients
No parabens or mineral oil. It does NOT have Talc. I give A+ to this formula. The formula is soft, pigmented and does not crease even without a primer.
Overall, in Spring 2016 collection Honeymoon Eye shadow Quad is my favorite.
If you are in NYC stop by Bergdoff’s and see Simone at Tom Ford. She is so helpful, lovely and knowledgeable in makeup and Tom Ford products.

Wow. The colors won’t suit me. Probably. Probably I will buy it nevertheless. Love the talc free formula. How did you get it by the way? It was sold out all the time. In Germany it will take anyway until it arrives…

Hi Andrea! Mine came from Bergdoff Goodman. Yes, you are right , it sold out so fast. They are expecting a new batch end of Feb. Call Simone from 212-872-2813 at BG she will reserve one for you.

So pretty!!! It feels like cognac sable and burnished amber had a baby. I wonder if only the palettes with TF embossed on the shades may be used wet / dry? In any case, I want to pick up this palette just because, although the lack of a shimmer shade gives me a feeling I wouldn’t be using this as much.

LOL. I never thought it that way but you are absolutely right. I think they will discontinue Cognac sable but I am not sure. So far they have been embossing on the the wet/dry formulas. Of the new eye shadows Honeymoon is the best looking one. This one would look great on you. XO
