What could be the possible new trends and products coming our way in 2012?
1-DD Creams: BB creams (beauty balm) and followed by the recent 2012 launch of CC creams ( color control or correcting). We will be seeing more CC creams on the market from different brands. We may see the emerge of DD creams in 2013. What is a DD cream? A Daily Defense cream. So far there are some that uses the name but I think the new DD creams will emerge the new anti-aging and anti-oxidant actives produced with the cutting edge science.
2- New collaborations and high-end brands: Burberry Beauty products have a solid following in the market. We expect the number of the followers to increase and see more Burberry beauty counters in US and other countries. Burberry Beauty and Interperfums has a new relationship so we may see new perfumes and new colors in the makeup line ( Oh we hope so!). Marc Jacobs is also giving the signs of a collection of color cosmetics. We may see them soon in Sephora.
3-Beauty Vloggers: We will see an increase in the number of Beauty Vloggers. The style will be changing. We predict the style will be easy to understand with good lighting like the Master Makeup artist Lisa Eldridge. As always the most talented ones will create their own niche vlogger style.
4- More Travel kits: The security checks during domestic and international flights are sometimes a hassle. You cannot take your original sized skincare products, perfumes or your makeup items. Instead of taking them with you most of us are leaving them at home or trying to put them in small bottles, a hassle on its own. NARS Luminous Moisture Travel Set and Luminous Aqua Travel Set as well as Trish McEvoy Power of Skincare Collection are the first brands to feel this much needed products.
We expect to see more TSA friendly travel kits from high-end brands. This will make a traveller’s life easier and also give us the opportunity to try these products before investing money. In 2013, we predict to see more “take-n-go travel kits” .
5- Sugary perfumes go away: Please really, enough with copying the same note over and over again. We feel like there is a trend towards white flowers with unique notes. We are expecting at least 1 or 2 unique perfumes this year.
