Rescue Beauty Lounge-Chinoise Nail Polish on Fire!

Today our guest is the lovely and juicy red Chinoise from Rescue Beauty Lounge…   Nail polishes from Rescue Beauty Lounge are completely ( at least in my opinion) different than rest of the polishes I tried.  The founder and creator of RBL  Ji Baek, is an expert in her field.  She is a wizard of colors creating out of this world shades  and gourmet-chic nail polishes.  Ji created an exquisite and bold red that can be easily used both on short and long nails.

Chinoise  is the perfect red for me.  Its concentrated vivid pigmentation and silky satin look reminds me of fast sports cars with style.  It applies like dream, evenly on the surface without streaks.  The opacity of Chinoise enables me to have the perfect red nail polish look with only 2 coats.  I apply RBL Base Coat before Chinoise . It protects my nails and creates the perfect canvas for Chinoise or any RBL polish for that matter (Base Coat will be reviewed in another post).

If you like you can apply top coat after Chinoise.  Even without the top coat it has great finish and lasts for a long time without chipping.  If you are a red nail polish connoisseur, this is a MUST HAVE…

Rescue Beauty Lounge does not have DBP, toluene and formaldehyde, which makes me really happy.  So why do these chemicals have question mark?

Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP):  used as a plasticizer to prevent nail polish from chipping and allow the nail polish to be flexible.  Unfortunately, this chemical has an endocrine disruptor character which could alter the development and reproductive system as  demonstrated with animal based studies.

Toluene:  is a flammable liquid used as a solvent in nail polish.  It helps to suspend the color in nail polish and form a smooth finish According to US EPA report,  overexposition to toluene in nail polish or nail glue could lead to health problems  (For example:  developmental defects such as attention deficit disorder, CNS problems, or minor craniofacial abnormalities in children of pregnant women exposed to toluene) (Click here for the report).

Formaldehyde:  is used for its nair hardener characteristics in the polish. Formaldehyde could cause irritations of the eye, nose or throat as well as lead to allergic dermatitis in some cases.  FDA limited the use of toluene in nail hardeners upto 5%.  US EPA defined formaldehyde as a potential carginogen upon over or long-time exposure .
