Chanel Perfection Lumiere Velvet Foundation – Review, Ingredients & Swatches

Chanel released Perfection Lumiere Velvet Foundation  ($45) for summer. It is formulated to be a matte alternative to  Chanel’s Perfection Lumiere Foundation. Both were made to be long lasting, resistant to different and changing climate such as heat, humidity. On top of these qualities, Perfection Lumiere Velvet Foundation is designed to provide a velvety, smooth and matte finish.

It is oil free. So oily or combination skins can use it. Sadly, this foundation was a disappointment for me. I used it with and without primer. Yes, it provides a matte finish but also accentuates my pores. My skin looked dry and pores looked saggy. After couple hours,  it was not matte at all yet quite oily. Skin felt dry and oily at the same time. Why? Please check out ingredient analysis below.

Swatches

Here are two swatches from Lumiere Velvet Foundation. Beige has yellow undertones.

ChanelPERFECTION LUMIÈRE VELVET-3

The foundation is liquid almost runny. It is more liquid than Armani Luminous Silk Foundation (click here for review )  and Armani covered better than Chanel. Dior Diorskin Nude BB Cremes (click here for review) had more coverage than Lumiere Velvet. Chantecaille Future Skin Foundation has the most coverage of all of them. My search for perfect matte foundation continues…

So if we list all swatched foundations and BB cremes here from less to more coverage:

Ingredients

No parabens, no mineral oil bu nearly nothing to moisturize the skin. The velvety https://drebru.com/guzellik/armani-luminous-silkmac-studio-fixguerlain-parure-extreme/?lang=enfeel comes from silicones used in the formula. Foundation provides SPF of 15 with active sunscreen ingredients. I believe with this ingredient composition , this foundation would be more suitable to use with a moisturizer and a good primer underneath it. Please do moisturize your skin even if you have a very oily complexion. If you don’t you will end up with more oil production and unhealthy skin.
