Chantecaille Bio Lift Concealer has been designed to be a 2-in-1 concealer and eye cream. The colored section on the outer ring is the concealer and the semi transparent white section is the eye cream.
The concealer side can used be used to cover dark circles, discoloration and blemishes. Theoretically, the concealer reflects the light and that is how it covers the dark circles. The middle part, which is the eye cream part is designed to relax fine lines and prevent the formation of new wrinkles.
Well sadly if we compare price versus effectiveness, it definitely does not conceal properly and too expensive. After application it does not have a matte finish yet it looks more glossy. It could work with dry skin that needs high emollience but I have combo/oily skin and this one definitely is not suitable for me. It also gets into the creases after sometime possibly due to oily skin.
It does reflect the light but have very light coverage. If you have very subtle dark circles under your eyes, this is the concealer for you. Yet if you would like complete coverage that will last for hours, this may not be your best bet.

Ingredients
The treatment ingredients list demonstrates the ingredients used in the eye cream part (white section). As you can see there are 5 different parabens. First ingredient is squalene, which provides the emollience. Squalene helps the dry and cracking skin. It is obtained from vegetable oils like olive oil, rice bran and wheat germ oil. Squalene has been listed as the first ingredient here, meaning it was used at the highest concentration in the formula, hence the oily feeling.
Second ingredient Triethylhexanoin is used as a secondary emollient and skin conditioning agent. It is a triglyceride derived from glycerin and fatty acids. Tocopherol is Vitamin E.
Although it has been said on their website it has soybean, I do not see it in the ingredient list. Soybean would be listed (if oil was used) as Soybean (Glycine Soja) Oil. If the ingredient used is a derivative of soybean, then that is another story. Another “Hmmm?” in my mind.
The anti-aging hexapeptide is the Acetyl Hexapeptide-3 listed nearly at the end of the list. (We will talk about peptides and why they are important in skin care products later).
Color ingredients section lists all the ingredients in the colored part of the concealer. The ingredient list starts with silicone (Dimethicone), emolinent thiethylhexanoin and continues with crosspolymers to provide the silky slide. There are no botanical or anti-aging ingredients in this part.
Interestingly, although it has been stated concealer has SPF of 10, there are not active sunscreen ingredients listed here. On their website, it has been stated a”non-chemical SPF” was used. Generally, the two mostly used non-chemical sunscreen ingredients are zinc oxide and titanium dioxide, which are also mineral sunscreen agents. I do not see it in this list. Titanium dioxide was listed at the end with +/- sign which means “may contain”. That makes one goes “Hmmm?”…
If you have dry skin, do not care about SPF a lot and want something light, this might be for you. Overall, I was personally disappointed with its performance, ingredients vs price. I love Chantecaille products but this one was definitely not my favorite.
