Tom Ford-Indian Rose / Burberry-English Rose Lipsticks

Tom Ford’s Indian Rose Lipstick (#04)

It is a gorgeous everyday natural mauve pink with a very subtle shimmer. The color is highly pigmented but it does accentuate the natural lines on your lips. It just covers them smoothly. It has a very opaque coverage without being drying. The texture feels creamy and luxurious. It lasts for hours without losing its color. It fades into a stain like appearance. What you see is what you get with Tom Ford Lip Color 04 INDIAN ROSE. The color on the lipstick is pretty much the same color on your lips.

The scent is a very light and sweet vanilla, which I like.

The packaging oozes elegance and style. Its black and gold casing is daring, glamorous and reminds me of a seductive Hollywood actress. The lid closes easily and does not come off in your purse or makeup bag.

Ingredients:  TF Indian Rose contains lipid-rich emollient ceramide 3 [1], emollient soja (soybean) seed extract, moisturizing and softening Brazilian murumuru butter,  chamomille flower oil, wheat germ extract , barley extract and shea butter.

Tom Ford Lip Color 04 INDIAN ROSE is a high-end lipstick and yes, it is expensive.  However, I believe the ingredients and quality of the product justifies the high price.

Burberry English Rose Lip Cover (#23):

Burberry Lip Cover Soft Satin Lipstick NO. 23 ENGLISH ROSE is from the Spring/Summer Collection.  The color is a soft mauve-toned pink  and looks a lot like TF Indian Rose, just more sheer.  It is not highly pigmented. The Burberry English Rose is excellent for every day use and with nude makeup.  The texture is sheer and smooth. You can either use it light or build up color.

The packaging of Burberry products is just beautiful.  The Burberry plaid is embossed on the sleek gunmetal colored metal lipstick case.  The case whispers the alluring Burberry style every time you take it out of your purse.

Ingredients:  The formula has medium moisturizing strength.Burberry English Rose has a sheer texture. The ingredients are less complicated then Tom Ford’s ingredients. On the other hand, it contains palmitoyl oligopeptide, which has been shown to stimulate collagen production and used in as an anti-aging agent[2-3].

Swatches of TF Indian Rose and Burberry English Rose:

To me, TF Indian Rose is more creamy and opaque than English Rose. If you want a full pigmented mauvey pink , then TF Indian Rose is more suitable for you. Should you prefer a sheer and medium-pigmented mauve pink, where you control the color build up, they Burberry English Rose is for you. They are both beautiful lipsticks with different strengths.
