YSL Touche Eclat #1 and #3

Yves Saint Laurent (YSL) Touche Eclat is the cult product of this century. It is a highlighter and a concealer in my books. Well, if you consider every 10 seconds one Touche Eclat is sold, it is not hard to grasp the cult status of this product.

Touche Eclat  withough being heavy or thick illuminates and conceals the eye area. You can also use to hide wrinkles or sun spots.

Due to its light formulation, it does not crease. One layer provides light coverage but it is most certainly buildable. I really like the way it illuminates my eye area and makes them pop. Although I hav oily/combo skin, Touche Eclat does not oxidize and darken on my skin. That is a A+ for me.

How do I use it and how can you apply it?

1-  Apply it under eyes and on the lids for coverage, makeup base and illumination.

2- You can apply it on your cheek bones or any where you want light for highlighting.

3- Apply it around your nose, tip of your lips, under eye, or on side of your eyes where you have fine lines to cover wrinkles. Touche Eclat is fantastic!

4- If you would like to emphasize your lips and prevent feathering especially with red lipstick , apply it around your lips and define your cupid’s bow.

Overall application areas are as follows:

I combine and use 2 colors form Touche Eclat. With this I get the perfect flawless color and it does not look like I have anything on! ( yes, all my secrets for looking young are out!) ;)

First I apply Touche Eclat #1 with the brush and lightly dap with my ring finder around my eye.

Touche Eclat #1 has a slight pinkish tone and it is quite light.

Next, I apply  Touche Eclat #3 where Touche Eclat #1 was applied.

The color of Touche Eclat #3 is more towards beige with yellow undertones hence the concealing effect in my combination of 1+3.

Back in the day I used to use only  Touche Eclat #2 ybut with #1 and #3 combination I get the prefect finish.

Touche Eclat comes in a little pen style tube with a white synthetic brush. It has a click feature at its back.

I nearly use it everyday and it lasts more than 6 months.

A little secret: My dear friend Tim from Neiman Marcus recommended me to clean the brush every month with alcohol to prevent growth and oxidizing of the color. Well it is a brush , just like your other makeup brushes it is only logical to clean it from time to time.

No parabens. If you do not like mineral oil or silicones, the formula may not be for you. These products did not enhance any milia around my eyes or breakouts.  .

In the ingredients there are also botanical extracts such as Arnica Montana flower extract to restore suppleness, Cupressus sempervirens seed extract, Vitis vinifera (grapeseed) extract to soothe and calm the eye area as well as Polygonum multiflorum extract againts free radicals.

Verdict

Application is flawless and lasts all day without creasing or fading. If you do not like heavy thick concealers and in need of a concealer/highlighter, most definitely try Touche Eclat.
