Guerlain Coup de Foudre Eyeshadow Palette

Guerlain selected a great name for this palette: Coup de Foudre which means love at first sight. Yes it was love at first sight.

I love green and it brings out the hazel tone in brown eyes.  I saw it first at the header of lovely Kai’s blog and I was struck. How could I miss this one? Usually Guerlain’s palettes have similar shades in a palette but this one was just for me.

This is a Spring 2013 Limited edition. It comes in its black velvet pouch and sleek golden packaging. If you find it get it now. You will not regret it and here is why.

I am very picky about my eye shadows. I have oily/combo skin and I really dislike creasing in the middle of the day after investing a chunky of money to a high end product. Yes, I DO want them to last at least 8-10 hours even without the primer. I haven’t used Guerlain eye shadows for a while. Their old formula definitely was not up to my standards.

With this palette, everything changed. Don’t you love a good surprise? I do. Guerlain changed their formula. It is better, stronger, faster. Yes, they have the technology. :)

The texture of the eyeshadows are silky soft, delicate and finely milled. The application is very smooth and buttery.  The iridescence of the shadows are elegantly subtle and easily buildable if you want to have a more dramatic finish.

Staying power

The colors are easy to apply and blend. The application was very smooth and no graininess of the shadow on the skin. I tried it with and without primer and both lasted at least 8-10 hours. Eyeshadows are also gym tested! Yes, I went to the gym with makeup. I am testing it under harsh conditions Guerlain! I was amazed the shadows did not crease or fade even after a workout!

At first I thought how am I going to combine these colors. No worries, each shadow can be used individually or in combination. They have the most exquisite synchronicity in color and in shimmer. The colors are a dream to blend.

Where can you find it?

Now this is the tricky part. All the palettes were finished in the US in a month after its release. I called Guerlain Boutique in Las Vegas and fantastic  Beauty Advisor Rhonda Hethcoat suggested the House of Guerlain in Disney. That is where I got mine! If you need any advice about Guerlain collections, call Rhonda , she is amazing [(702) 732-7008].
