Oh yes Tom Ford Eye Color Quads are my favorite and there are lots of reasons why they are. For instance the pigment intensity and quality, color combinations, ingredients ( yes me and my ingredients :) ) , price per ounce vs quality ( much much cost effective compared to others when you analyze it this way) etc etc.
I was hesitant about Tom Ford Cocoa Mirage (#03; 78$ 10g/0.35 oz) thinking maybe it is just another boring brown palette but was I wrong. The quad is ideal for people to prefer to stay away from the adult glitter and want something for everyday use. The shades are so versatile. You can use it alone or in combination.
Cocoa Mirage quad comes with the brown soft velvet pouch and in its elegant espresso brown golden accented packaging. It is retro glamour in full blast. There are 2 pairs of applicators and one with a brush made of white soft goat hair. Perfect for blending.
Overall the shades are in the range of deep warm chocolate tones. Don’t be fooled by the appearence this is no ordinary boring brown palette. Once you apply them your whole perception about this quad changes. It consists of 3 matte satin and one microshimmer shades.
Shade 1 (Top left): Reminds me of white chocolate. Creamy satin matte warm ivory shade. Ideal as a base or to highlight the brow bone.
Shade 2 (Top right): Medium warm toned light brown matte satin shade. Reminds me of coffee with lots of milk. Can be used alone or as a transition color between the lighter and darker shades. Love it.
Shade 3 (Bottom left): Coppery golden microshimmers are embedded in the warm reddish brown shade. Can be applied all over the lid or as an eyeliner.
Shade 4 (Bottom right): Dark warm chocolate matte and satin shade. Ideal for a brown smoky eye or as an eyeliner.
As an alternative, shades can be used to define the eye brows as well.
