Tom Ford Nude Dip Eye Color Quad: Review, Ingredients, Swatches, Comparisons and Pictures

Tom Ford Nude Dip Eye Color Quad comes out as one of the jewels of Fall 2014 Collection. The palette is limited edition.  Again it comes in the tortoise like brown and gold luxurious packaging. This post is picture heavy ladies. Enjoy :).

The shades are embossed with TF different than other quads.  It has four shades (hence the “quad”). Shades are in the neutral category.  Although neutral , the shades have a frosty and delicate shimmer to them. That is why I took pictures both with and without sunlight so you can see the color and the shimmer separately. Microshimmer in the shades come out beautifully under the light.

Shade 1 (Top right): It is a sweet and light toned frosted champagne with subtle cool gold undertones. No fall out during application. Beautiful pigmentation with both dry and wet application. Lovely.

Shade 2 (Top left):  Frosty light rose gold with delicate coppery undertones. No fall out and the color pigmentation is great with dry or damp application.

Shade 3 (Bottom right):  A lovely and medium toned taupe with delicate microshimmer that gives a frosty finish. The taupe tone is cooler than that in Orchid Haze Quad.

Shade 4 (Bottom left):  This color is my favorite in the quad. Warm dark brown with satin like frosty finish. The frost is less compared the other three shades, which balances the quad quite beautifully. The brown shade does not have purple undertones, yet it skews towards more a neutral earthy brown tone with a very subtle red/copper touch. No fall out. Just lovely with both dry and wet application.

Swatches

Shades in Nude Dip Eye Color Quad can be applied both dry and wet. Dry application is applying the shades with a dry brush or an applicator on your eye lid. In wet application, the brush or the application is dampened with clean water and then dipped in tho the eyeshadow. This provides a deeper, more vibrant color on the eye lids.  The texture of the shades are very very finely milled and buttery soft. There is no fall out during application. Application was soft and the finish was not powdery, which can sometimes happen with frosty shades. The wear time was impressive. No creasing for 8-9 hours of wear.

Comparisons

Nude Dip vs Golden Mink

Nude Dip leans more towards a warm taupe/champagne/brown neutrals whereas Golden Mink has more adult glitter shades (2) and leans towards golden shades. Review for Golden Mink is coming soon.

Nude Dip vs She Wolf

Nude Dip is lighter and warmer than She Wolf Trio Palette. It also has more frost in its shades compared to She Wolf.

Ingredients:

No parabens or mineral oil. It has corn starch that will absorb the excess oil form the lids. Also has shea butter unsaponifiables (a natural anti-irritant) and soybean glycerides (anti-oxidant). The formula is soft, pigmented and does not crease even without a primer.
