Tom Ford Ombré Eye Color Trio: In the Pink

Tom Ford released two limited edition (key word being limited and at the end of this article get yours while you can) trio colors for the Fall 2013 Collection. Both trio palettes are very versatile, easy to use and beautiful.

Tom Ford #01 In the Pink eye shadow palette is composed of 3 fantastic neutral pinks leaning towards a warm and light shade of peach.

The packaging is sturdy and travel friendly. It comes with a mirror and a dual sided applicator with sponge on one end and a brush on the other end. The brush is made of the same material (goat) that all Tom Ford brushes are made of. The eyeshadow compact comes in a brown velvet pouch.

I tried to capture the colors under different angles and light. As you can see the nude tones are more apparent with the light. Top picture is under morning light, middle afternoon and the bottom picture was taken with flash.

Although the name of this trio is In the Pink, the shades are not absolute pink.

Left shade (#1): Very light and soft matte pink with peach undertones. The perfect base for this trio. It blends in nearly nude on my lids and brightens the whole area. When applied you cannot see the powdery finish of a shadow. It truly enlightens the lid and pops the eyes. Texture is buttery smooth with no fall out. Application with the sponge or with a brush are both nice and easy.

Middle shade (#2): A shimmery warm soft pinkish peach shade with a subtle hint of creamy beige. Although it is shimmery, the finish is not overwhelmingly frosty. The color is rich in pigmentation. The texture feels smooth, buttery and application is a dream. No fall out.

Right shade (#3): A Tom Ford eye shadow specialty: Glitter! In the pan it looks like it has color but the base is mostly a transparent peachy pink shade with emphasis on the glitter. The glitters are silvery white and pale pinkish peach. Glitters do not hurt the sensitive lid. The texture is soft even feels creamy. No fall out during application.

Application

Shade #1: Applied all over the lid up to the brow bone over Tom Ford Eye Primer (review coming soon). I also used it with Nars and Urban Decay eye primers and worked nicely.

Shade #2: Applied the middle shade starting from the middle of the lid towards the outer corner and applying some more to the crease. Just lovely.

Shade #3: Padded the right glitter shade with my finger into the inner corner of the eye and the middle of the lid. The sparkles in this shade brings a lot of light and pizzaz to the eyes making them look lively and energetic. I would recommend to finish the look with an espresso or black eye pencil or black eyeliner/ mascara. The end result is a sophisticated elegant clean and lively eye makeup without being to much. The shades lasted for 8-10 hours without creasing.

Ingredients

No parabens or mineral oil. It has corn starch that will absorb the excess oil form the lids. Also has shea butter unsaponifiables (a natural anti-irritant) and soybean glycerides (anti-oxidant). The formula is soft, pigmented and does not crease even without a primer.
