Tom Ford released Platinum and Spice ($42.00 for 0.21 oz) couple years ago as Limited Edition and has been off the market since. These Cream Color for Eyes are now available in Tom Ford Holiday 2014 Collection for a short time. They have achieved cult status in cream eye shadows and highly sought for by make up connoisseurs.
Platinum and Spice Cream Colors are in a small round glass container with the beautiful bronze cap that has the golden TF logo.
Platinum is a beautiful frosted warm taupe leaning towards a smoky shimmery finish in the pot. When applied (especially on my skin with yellow undertones) it changes. Platinum has turned into a cool smoky taupe with greyish golden undertones on my lids. The shimmer is subtle not like the Tom Ford adult glitter. Platinum has an effortless glow reminding me the hot summer days on the coast of Mediterranean.
Inside and under sunlight
First layer of application is semi sheer which is great for an easy and nude makeup with a touch of frosty finish. As you apply more layers the depth of the cream color Platinum shows itself.
Spice is warmer than Platinum. Spice has a warm bronze soft shade with coppery red and golden undertones. It has an exquisite subtle shimmer which is less frosty but more pearly than Platinum.
Inside and sunlight
The first layer of application is semi sheer but stronger than Platinum. It is definitely buildable. On my skin, it leans more to the reddish undertones with a coppery pearl finish. Spice also has that beautiful glow like Platinum. Gorgeous!
Texture and Application
The texture of these cream colors are definitely different than the other cream eye shadows like Chanel or Maybeline. Tom Ford Cream Color texture are softer like mousse with a little gloopiness to them. The “gloopy” feeling disappears the moment they are applied to the lid. I like the softness of these cream colors. It makes them easy to apply and the finished look is elegant, feather light and smooth. I would say Tom Ford Cream color is a hybrid of a true cream, a mousse and an eye shadow. Well played, Mr. Ford.
I tested these cream shadows in lovely hot and humid Georgia and also on the coast of Mediterranean and Aegean during sunny days and rain storms. The lasting power is very impressive. They lasted around 10 hours without losing color and sheen. No creasing at all. They both lasted throughout the day with and without a eye shadow primer.
You can apply the cream colors with your finger tips if you like. I would recommend to use a brush for a more controlled application. A little goes very long way so the amount in the pot and the amount used on the lids balance the price of the product.

Platinum has more greyish taupe and less frost than Golden Mink (Bottom left) and Nude Dip (bottom left-in quad; second swatch from the left). Spice has more redness and gold undertones compared to both Golden Mink and Nude Dip.
Ingredients
Cream Color for Eyes do not have any parabens or mineral oil. The formula has silicones that gives the bounciness and smoothness to them. They have purple mangosteen extract (Garcinia Mangostana Peel Extract) for skin calming and conditioning properties, Cocoa fruit powder ( Theobroma Cacao powder) which may contain some cocoa butter and provides a smooth texture. The formula also has ascorbyl palmitate (vitamin C) and tocopherol (vitamin E) as antioxidants.
Verdict: The application, pigmentation, texture, stay power, ingredients are all A+. They are limited edition, you can get yours from Tom Ford or Neiman Marcus.
