Tom Ford Summer 2014 Eye and Cheek Compact: Unabashed! Review and Pictures

The long awaited Tom Ford’s Eye And Cheek Compact Unabashed is finally here. I usually do not prefer combination palettes due to the mixing up of the pigments in the packaging but Tom Ford Unabashed is exceptional.

The creamy white and gold packaging of spring continues with the summer collection. This exquisite design oozes retro Hollywood luxury and style. Love it!

This is the first time that Tom Ford presents a all-in-one compact.

Unabashed has 3 eyeshadows, a blush and a bronzer in the compact. All shades are in perfect harmony with each other.

The pop of blue makes my day. All the eyeshadow palettes from other brands has become risk free with neutrals more neutrals and even more. It is a repeat of older colors with a tweak. Tom Ford does throw in the daring blue and winks at us. Love!

Shades provide the user various combinations from day look to dramatic sultry-blue Cleopatra eyes.

The all-in-one Unabashed compact is the same size as Tom Ford bronzers. One could say it is too big to carry around. Given that it has all you need for your makeup (and don’t forget the pretty packaging), I would give A+ and say it is travel friendly.

The 3 eyeshadows, bronzer and blush are divided nicely and the pigments do not mix into other compartments due to the formula.

All the colors are intensely pigmented, especially the royal blue. The formula is buttery smooth and no powdery appearance.

Royal/cobalt intense blue eyeshadow:

The absolute and intense true blue. No red, purple or grey undertones. There is no change of color from the pan to the application on the lids. Did I say intense? The pigmentation is the strongest I have ever seen till now. Of the other 2 shades, blue shade it a tad bit drier but still smooth. Application is very easy. No fall off, extreme color pay off! You can use it all over the lid or as a eyeliner. Both are beautiful. If you like you can combine it with the golden toned bronzer in the compact for a beach goddess or Cleopatra look.

Taupe eyeshadow:

The creamy taupe in the middle on the left side is the most smooth of all 3 eyeshadows. It is even smoother than Tom Ford Shewolf trio . The texture is fantastic and extremely soft. Application is a dream. No fall out at all! The pigmentation is divine. The color is more a cool taupe without any purple undertones. I has a matte satin finish. Great for everyday use.

“Adult” Glitter Shadow:

Majority of Tom Ford quads come with the famous “adult” glitter. So does this one. Of all other Tom Ford glitters I have and tried , this one is the most smooth and buttery one. Beautiful light golden peach glitter is perfection. As with other Tom Ford glitters I would recommend application with your finger tips and light padding on the lids.

The Blush:

Amazing coral toned pink blush with ultrafine golden microshimmer. Application is easy with no fall out. Stays in its place for 6-7 hours without losing its color. Pigmentation is phenomenal. This should be a blush on its own. Perfect color for summer.

The Bronzer:

Although it is marked as a bronzer, I think it would be better as a highlighter on tanned skin. As a bronzer I think it would be too shimmery. The pigmentation is beautiful. Texture is creamy and easy to apply. No fall out. The color is a divine golden light bronze with microglitters. You can even use it as an eyeshadow.

Swatches

Sadly, it has been raining so all the pictures has been taken under studio lighting and outside (a rainy day). All the swatches were applied over Tom Ford Eye Primer Duo.

Ingredients

No parabens or mineral oil. It has corn starch that will absorb the excess oil form the lids. Also has shea butter unsaponifiables (a natural anti-irritant) and soybean glycerides (anti-oxidant). The preservatives in this formula are the ones used in most natural and organic formulations.

This palette is ideal for all skin tones. I wish it would be a permanent edition but it is not. So get your Tom Ford Unabashed before it is completely gone.
