Diorskin Nude BB Creme #002: Review, Ingredients & Swatches

Dior is introducing a new Diorskin Nude BB Cream for Spring 2013. The BB cream comes in four shades. The Spring 2013 Dior collection is focusing on a rosy glowing complexion. Fresh like spring!
Diorskin Nude BB cream is a 5 in 1 product.

Diorskin Nude BB cream is available in four shades:

• Light 001: light, pink-toned shade; suitable for fair skin with pink undertones
• Fair 002: a lighter beige with yellow undertones, ideal for light to medium complexions
• Medium 003: a warm-toned medium shade, possibly for olive and tanned complexions
• Dark 004: deep warm dark shade, ideal for deeper complexions.

I purchased Fair 002. At first, it seemed a little light for me. As with oily/combination skin, the color adjusted well after blending and appeared natural on my skin.

It also has the instruction pamphlet.

The texture is light, creamy and applies quite smoothly. The cream has almost a powdery dry down and has a semi-matte finish. It does not lack moisture, yet it does not feel greasy on my skin. It does not accentuate the pores or flaky areas.

As with most BB creams, it does not provide full coverage like a foundation but the “Rosy GlowTM” pigments in the formula take out redness, imperfections and even my skin tone. The texture is medium and the coverage could be defined more like a light foundation.  The light coverage of BB cream gives the appearance of beautiful rosy skin without the heaviness of foundation. The scent is nonexistent.

The BB cream lasted in the gym and at work for 9 hours. At the end of the day my face started looking a little greasy at which point I touched up with setting powder.

Ingredients

The formula was designed to give a fresh and natural look. It has 2.19% titanium dioxide as sunscreen active. Usually high levels of titanium dioxide break my skin out. To my suprise my skin did not show any reactions with this BB cream. It does not have parabens. Formula has Green Tea (Camellia Sinensis) Extract and Aspalathus Linearis (Red Tea) Leaf Extract as anti-oxidants and mineralized floral water.

There are other botanical extracts in the formula. What do they do?

Malva Sylvestris (Mallow) Extract: antioxidant emollient with anti-inflammatory and soothing properties
Rhodochrosite extract: Antioxidant: Skin-Conditioning Agent
Balanites roxburghii seed(Desert date) oil: Moisturizing and emollient property
Anti-microbic – DNA protection – Anti-oxidant
Hibiscus sabdariffa (Roselle) Flower Extract: Skin Conditioning Agent
Hydrolyzed linseed extract: Antioxidant
Ajuga Turkestanica Extract: Skin-Conditioning Agent
Sericin: Silk protein, moisturizing conditioning

Verdict:

It moisturizes, smooths and corrects the skin tone. No break outs. Great lasting power and formulation. Mind you this is not a foundation, the sheer coverage is nice for this BB cream and looks natural. Oily complexions may need to touch up with powder during warm days.
