Bleu Majorelle-YSL La Laque Couture Nail Lacquer

I am very impressed with the Yves Saint Laurent (YSL) nail polishes. I am always in the search for the perfect blue. I miss warmth of the blue and tranquil Aegean and Mediterranean sea. I am in love with blue. When I saw Bleu Majorelle, I had to try it. YSL’s Bleu Majorelle was also selected as the best bright nail polish of 2012 by Allure.

Bleu Majorelle could be defined as a bright cobalt but to me it is the perfect Aegean/ Mediterrenian blue.

YSL nail polishes brush is different than others. It is flatter (i.e. Chanel) and thinner ( i.e. Dior, Opi) than other classic type nail brushes.

The brush is wide and trimmed which makes it very easy to apply the polish as close as possible to the cuticle but not over it. The application with this brush is very easy.

The texture of Bleu Majorelle is just fantastic, you can get away with one thick coat but I applied 2 coats. I love the depth of the blue. It does not have a chemical smell. The formula dries very wuickly. Even applying a thick second coat there is no bubbling or uneven application. It lasts for a long time (of course I always apply top coat).

The nail polish was created by Yves Saint Laurent’s International Creative Director of Beauty, Lloyd Simmonds.

Ingredients

It is 3-free also free of parabens, Petrochemicals, and Phthalates. The pigmentation is very concentrated. Blue Majorelle does not have shimmer in it but it is shiny even without the top coat.  The formula has Chil rose bush oil  (Rosa Rubiginosa Seed Oil) to strengthen and protect nails.

Ingredients: Butyl Acetate, Ethyl Acetate, Nitrocellulose, Acetyl Tributyl Citrate, Adipic Acid/Neopentyl Glycol/Trimellitic Anhydride Copolymer, Isopropyl Alcohol, Stearalkonium Bentonite, Styrene/Acrylates Copolymer, Acrylates Copolymer, Diacetone Alcohol, Silica, Octocrylene, N-Butyl Alcohol, Trimethylpentanediyl Dibenzoate, Phosphoric Acid, Dimethicone, Trimethylsiloxysilicate, Corallina Officinalis Extract, Rosa Rubiginosa Seed Oil, Acetone, Stearalkonium Hectorite.

Verdict

I am very happy with the performance of YSL nail polishes. They deliver on all their claims. With their 2 coats of full opaque look and their quality, these nail polishes are worth every penny.
