I’m starting my first blog post with Burberry Beauty’s Light Glow Blush series, which entered the colorful cosmetics world in 2010, focusing on the shade Earthy. :)
I can describe the Earthy 07 shade as a light brown that leans more towards a matte peach tone. Although it may seem very dull at first glance, it works wonders in contouring the cheekbones. It is a blush that can easily make a difference even on medium wheat-colored or dark skin tones. Like other colorful products from Burberry, you can build up its effect by layering, or if you apply it lightly, it subtly showcases Burberry’s signature English elegance on your face. If you have a paler complexion, you also have the chance to alter its color with a warm-toned blush.
Earthy is ideal for highlighting facial features rather than traditional blush application. It can be used to:
- Accentuate the forehead near the hairline
- Define the cheeks and cheekbones
- Outline the jawline under the chin
The packaging of the Burberry Beauty Light Glow blush is quite sturdy, with a metallic look. The trademark Burberry check pattern is immediately noticeable on the packaging. The packaging is presented in a velvet pouch with a box.
As for the ingredient list…
The good news: It contains natural and naturally-derived ingredients such as corn starch, corn oil, Ginkgo biloba leaf extract, and rosehip (rosa canina) extract. The absence of a strong perfume scent and the lack of petroleum-derived chemicals like phthalates or mineral oil in the ingredient list are positive points.
Unfortunately, it does contain pesky parabens (butyl, propyl, and methyl) that mimic estrogen. For more information about parabens, read here. Additionally, it includes talc, which oily and acne-prone skin types generally dislike. I will address this issue under ChicScience Secrets in the future.
Final word: After reading the ingredients, it is up to you to decide whether to use the product.
