Urban Decay Naked3 Eyeshadow Palette: Review, Pictures, Swatches

As Naked 3 was out I had to check it out.  Naked 3 comes as 12 eye shadows and it has a dual eye synthetic brush. The kit also has a set of eye primer samples. The main shade theme of the palette is pink and browns. Even the browns has pink hue. This palette is for pink lovers. The packaging is sturdy and has a mirror inside.

So being a pink-heavy palette I had my reservations like is it going to work on my olive-yellow warm toned skin.

Shades

Strange: A pale and neutral close to white pink matte shade. Smooth, applied nicely. No fall out.

Dust: Light warm metallic pink with pale micro glitter. Texture is smooth but a little fall out due to glitter.

Burnout: Pale rose with very light peach undertones and pearly shimmer. Smooth, applied nicely.

Limit: Mauve toned dusty light rosy pink. Matte finish. Powdery and low color build up on my skin.

Buzz: Warm metallic copper toned rosy pink with micro glitters. Really loved the color but fall out was too much. Maybe due to glitter intensity , it felt loose in the pan and powdery.

Trick: Pink toned copper with micro-glitter. Less fall out compared to Buzz. Smooth.

Nooner: Matte medium toned pink warm brown.  Medium color intensity. Smooth application. No fall out.

Liar:  Metallic deep copper with greyish mauve and pink tones. Lovely color. Frosted finish. Smooth application.

Factory: Although described pinky brown satin, it has a pearly medium dark reddish brown finish.

Mugshot: Lighter than Factory. Metallic medium warm taupe with frosted finish. Smooth application.

Darkside: Cool taupe with pearly finish. Smooth application.

Blackheart: Lovely shade. Deep smoky matte black with red undertones and dark red micro glitters.

Comparison with Tom Ford In the Pink.

Although some might say some shades in Naked 3 could replicate In the Pink (reviewed here), I beg to differ. Definitely not.. In the Pink is definitely more peachy pink with very subtle golden undertones. Naked 3 has rosy pink tones. In the Pink swatches here are only one swipe yet with Naked3 I had to swipe the shades 3 times. Color pigmentation is stronger with Tom Ford. So yes, it might look different on different complexions but I wouldn’t say a complete replication.

I think Naked 3 would be much flattering on light warm or pink/pale skin tones better.

Sadly, this palette is not for me.  The shimmer and darker shadows had good color payoff but rest of them were not excellent. Some shades especially Buzz had major fall out and had grainy texture. I am sorry but I have to be true to my experience. I liked Naked (review) and Naked  Basics (review) much better.

Price: $52

Naked Basic by Urban Decay was purchased by myself and reviewed impartially for entertainment purposes only.

süpermiş. Bunun mat farları da içeren bir paleti olsa keşke. Kırışığı yoğun göz kapaklarında sedefliler yorgun yapıyor… da…

I haven’t got that one because of my lids appearing 10 years older with UD eye shadows. I have to check it in person before splurging but it seems the texture is similar to other palette, so a pass for me too.

I’ve swatched these several times and so far it’s a no go for me since I know I wouldn’t get much use out of several of these. I would love for Blackheart to be a single. :)
