It has been sometime since I reviewed or posted anything. Well, today I am reviewing Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel for face (100ml/ 3.5fl.oz. | Price $49.68) and please keep in mind these are my personal experiences.
As a beauty blogger and a scientist, I test and try hundreds of products on my skin and body. I have become quite picky with which products I use or will feature on my blog based on the ingredients in the product and the results. Sometimes, there are products that do not work for me and I am sure there are people out there who wants to hear why they don’t work as well. It is an unbiased, experience based review. I was really curious about this cleanser since there were so many raves about it. However, I am disappointed. 
The packaging is quite nice, I will give an A+ for air tight bottle that keeps the light and germs away from the product. The dispensing of the gel is quite easy.
There is nearly no to very light scent, which I like for a cleansing product. The texture is very gel like with a soft salmon pink.
Let’s look into performance. The non-foaming gel turns into a milky lotion after it mixes with water. It barely removes any makeup to be honest. Even without the makeup – and I tried using it by itself and with a wash mitt- the performance was still not up to par and I had to use another cleanser afterwards.
If you have very dry skin this could make your skin feel softer but I don’t like the after feel which was way slippery as if I put oil on my face and cannot take it off. It leaves an oily film on.

Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Glycerin, Aqua, Cetearyl Olivate, Sucrose Laurate, Benzyl Alcohol, Sorbitan Olivate, Sucrose Palmitate, Parfum (Natural), Geraniol*, Dimethyl Sulfone (MSM), Citronellol**, Dehydroacetic Acid, Lactobacillus/Cucurbita Pepo Fruit Ferment Extract, Borago Officinalis Seed Oil, Sucrose Stearate, Linalool**, Retinyl Palmitate, CI77491 (natural iron oxide), Jojoba Esters, Tocopherol, Ascorbyl Palmitate.
The ingredients are natural or nature derived. I am curious about the perfume being natural though. The color comes from iron oxide which is natural. The formula starts with Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride – an oily liquid that works as an emollient, dispersing agent and solvent.It is made from palm kernel or coconut oil that is a mixed ester composed of caprylic and capric fatty acids attached to a glycerin backbone. Aqua is water and rest of them until Parfum are emulsifiers, thickeners derived from natural ingredients.
Their website says it has Starflower Oil – which is the Borago Officinalis Seed Oil, Pumpkin Enzymes – which would be the Lactobacillus/Cucurbita Pepo Fruit Ferment Extract, however I fail to see any Chamomile or Rose in this INCI / Formula listing. Chamomile and Rose could be in the parfum but even that the case why it is not listed? That needs to be addressed.
It does not have artificial fragrances, silicones, parabens, sulphates and propylene glycol but I am not still sure about the Parfum (Natural) statement.
There are also better options for gentle cleanser for face
The price is quite high compared to the performance I was expecting after seeing all the raves online for a cleansing gel for face.
Verdict: Given the high price for the low performance I experienced and expected based on the claims, unfortunately I will not be repurchasing this item.
