Kışın dudaklar kupkuru oluyor. Birde üzerine çatlayınca ne yaparsan yap iyileşmesi bayağı zaman alıyor. Herkesin kült ürünü olarak geçen La Mer Lip Balm’ı denemeye karar verdim. Oldukça pahalı ve neden bu kadar ünlü çok merak ediyordum. Lip balm yarı saydam mint yeşili bir küçük kavanozda ve gümüş kapakla geliyor. Paket oldukça basit ve cantada taşıması kolay. Kokusu çok hoş. Kapağı açtığımda vanilya ve nane kokusu çarptı burnuma. Dudaklarda ise tatlı ve mentollü nane tadı bırakıyor. Ürünü kulak pamuğu yada parmaklarınızla uygulayabilirsiniz. Tavsiye edildigi gibi, lip balmı önce parmak uçlarımın arasında hafifce ovaladıktan sonra dudaklara yavaş hareketlerle dağıttım. Lip balmı gece kullandım. Kalma gücü güzel ama öyle muhteşem bir etki veya herkesin çok övdüğü gibi dudaklarımı harika ötesi nemlendirmedi açıkcası. Sürdüğünüzde dudaklarda mentolden dolayı hafif bir soğukluk ve karıncalanma oluyor.

Bu fiyat ve içerikler ile hiç mutlu olmadım. Neden mi? ABD fiyati bu ürünün 50$ , Türkiye’de 130 TL ve içeriklerde ilk listelenen madde ise petrolatum yani bildiğiniz vazelin. El insaf La Mer! İçerik listesinde ilk madde olması , formül içerisinde en yüksek oranlı kullanılmış madde demek. Doğal veya doğal türevli maddeler ise içerik listesinin sonuna doğru. Yani formül içinde oranları düşük. Formülde ayrıca okaliptüs yağı ile mentolün türevi olan menthyl PCA var. Bazı insanların hassasiyeti olabiliyor. Özetle piyasadaki en pahalı lip balmlarından bir olan bu üründen, diğer lip balmların yapamadığı birşeyi yapmasını ( anti-aging mesela) bekliyorsunuz. Ve kesinlikle vazeline 50 dolar veya 130 TL ödemek istemiyorsunuz.

Çok pahalı ve petrolatum / vazelin bazlı bir lip balm. Üzgünüm ama bu sevgili lip balm fiyat karşılığında sunduğu değerle hiç benim beklentilerimi karşılamadı. En güzel lip balmı bulma calışmalarımız devam ediyor!

It is winter and lips get chapped and dry. In comes the cult favorite La Mer Lip Balm . It is expensive. I was really curious why it was so famous.

The lip balm comes in a semi transparent minty green pot with a simple silver top. The packaging is nice and simple, easy o carry around in your purse. The balm smells great. When you open the pot , you get a whiff of the relaxing vanilla mint scent. On the lips it tastes sweet and minty due to the menthol. You can either use a q-tip or your finger to apply it on your lips.

As recommended, I lightly rubbed the balm between my finger tips and tapped on my lips. I used it at night. The staying power is nice but my lips did not feel that extraordinary or kept my lips hydrated (as everybody raves). Lips tingle because of the mentol in it.

Ingredients

The ingredients is where I wasn’t happy.  The price is 50$ and the first ingredient is petrolatum (basically vaseline), which means it is the at the highest level in this formula. All the natural or naturally derived ingredients are way at the end of the list ( means less in amount in the lip balm). It has eucalyptus oil and menthol derivative menthyl PCA, which gives the nice minty smell. Overall, I was thinking for the one of the most expensive lip balms around, it would have done something that other lip balms did not do ( anti-aging etc) and should not have that much vaseline in the formula for 50$!

Verdict:

It is highly overpriced and petrolatum based lip balm.  Sorry lovely lip balm your price versus value definitely did not meet my expectations. My quest for the perfect lip balm continues!
